BWD, CGB, DPWH break the ground for the Source Development & Expansion Project

The Mayor of the City of Batac, Hon. Jefferey Jubal C. Nalupta led the groundbreaking ceremony of the Source Development and Expansion Project of the Batac Water District. The P 19.7M project which is still on-going is funded by the Department of Public Works and Highways. Best efforts were exerted by the City Government of Batac and the Batac Water District in requesting the said funds from Sec. Rogelio Singson of DPWH. The project will approximately serve an additional 800 households in Brgys. Colo, Mabaleng and Sitio Bacucang Quiling Sur. The groundbreaking, held last January 13, 2016 was graced by DPWH Officials headed by District Engineer, Mathias Malenab; Sangguniang Panlungsod Members headed by Vice-Mayor Alan M. Nalupta, Brgy. Colo Officials and Sangera headed by Punong Barangay Jerry Gaoat and other guests. BOD and Management Staff of the BWD headed by Chairman Aurora V. Lumang and GM Maria Dohna D. Sagun spearheaded the ceremony. The project is just one of the numerous projects lined up to improve and expand the services of the District. This will also address the increasing demand for potable drinking water due to the rapid urbanization of the City and consequent influx of more people, tourists and investments
